Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Police`s anti-terror unit Densus 88 arrested Yadi Al Hasan, the leader of a Cirebon terrorist cell, on Wednesday, head of the National Police`s public relations division, Inspector General Bachrul Alam, said.

"Yes, Yadi was arrested last night at 11.30 pm in Pasindangan in the sub-district of Gunung Jati, Cirebon. Denuss 88 has caught a terrorist leader," he said here on Thursday.

Yadi was the leader of a terrorist cell that had justified the choice of the Adz Zikra mosque in Cirebon as a bombing target. They called their group the Tauhid Wal Jihad, Bachrul said.

"Now we have 7 x 24 hours to question him. He is a teacher and has received training in the use of fire arms and other tings," he said.

Bachrul Alam however could not say where Yadi had received the training pending the conclusion of the questioning.

"Yadi was once a member of the Ansharut Tauhid Network (JAT) but later he left it and set up a group of his own," he said.

He had been one of the people wanted by the police so far along with Nanang Irawan, Umar, Santoso Cahya, Imam Rasyidi and Taufik Bulaga.

"They are in the dangerous people category in the fight against f terrorism. So, anyone who has information about them is requested to report to the police," he said.

He said these people could assemble bombs and recruit people to join their terror network.

Mochamad Syarif was the person who blew himself up at the Adz Zikra mosque in the Cirebon city police compound while Pino Damayanto alias Ahmad Urip alias Ahmad Yosefa alias Hayat alias Raharjo was the suicide bomber at a church in Solo, Central Java, recently.

Both Ahmad and Syarif were active members of JAT in Cirebon led by Agung Nur Alam alias Abu Husama.

Syarif was sworn in by Abu Bakar Ba`asyir in Tasikmalaya in 2008 along with all JAT members of Cirebon. He also actively participated in Ba`asyir`s religious gatherings in several places in West Java.(*)
