Medan, N Sumatra (ANTARA News) - Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) President Luthfi Hasan Ishak said President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono should solve recent cases in Papua quickly because they had claimed lives.

"We are concerned with the cases," Luthfi Hasan Ishak said after a PKS regional meeting here on Sunday.

He said that PKS expressed condolences over the cases in Papua which had claimed lives and created various negative excesses.

Luthfi said that PKS had conveyed its opinion to the president about the cases in Papua which it considered had developed very seriously and had touched on the nation`s commitment to the Unitary State of Indonesia (NKRI).

He said that the government should seriously adopted an attitude regarding the cases in Papua because they were very serious and concerned with four state pillars: NKRI, the 1945 Constitution, the Unity in Diversity and the Pancasila state ideology.

If one of the state pillars is under a threat the government should take a firm and bold step. "Fast response to the problems should be taken soon."

However, the government should also make no mistakes in taking a step in solving the conflict that had caused casualties.

With its various organs, the government is expected to provide comprehensive solutions to the conflict in all fields, he said.

"It should take it over from all fronts, beginning from security matters to labor problem," he said.(*)
