Paris (ANTARA News) - UNESCO Director General Irina Bokova greeted President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono upon arrival at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris on Wednesday.

President Yudhoyono in the company of First Lady Ani Yudhoyono later went straight to the VVIP room while waiting for the start of a special session of the 36th UNESCO general assembly marking the 10th anniversary of the universal declaration on cultural diversity.

At the session, the Indonesian leader would deliver a speech on the Indonesian government`s effort to preserve and develop cultural diversity in the country so that it would become national assets to make the country better.

Also delivering a speech to the event was Bulgarian President Georgi Parvanov.

The President`s entourage included Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Hatta Rajasa, Finance Minister Agus Martowardojo, Education and Culture Minister Muhammad Nuh, Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Mari Elka Pangestu and Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa.

President Yudhoyono is in France for a four-day working visit during which he will also attend a G20 Summit. (*)
