Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Jakarta police on Thursday night found Nadia Dwi Rachman alias Dea, a 22-year old student of Trisakti University who was reported missing since October 24, 2011, in Semarang, Central Java.

"Thank you police for having found my daughter," Dea`s mother Emy Ismaini. said to reporters on Thursday night.

She said she had received information that Dea had been found from the vice director of the general crime investigation department of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police Command, Adjunct Senior Commissioner Nico Afinta, while meeting an invitation from a private television station.

Emy said the police had found her daughter after tracking her cellphone. She was found staying in boarding house in Semarang.

Police meanwhile said Dea said she had left her home because she was not able yet to finish her studies according to the target.

"Based on initial questioning she fled because she had problems finishing her studies according to the target," Jakarta Metropolitan Police spokesman Senior Commissioner Baharudin Djafar said here on Friday.

He said Dea felt she was guilty towards her parents because she should have finished her studies in October 2011. She also felt guilty because she had spent Rp3 million intended to cover her tuition fee on other things, he said.

He said Dea had decided to go to Semarang using the tuition fee money to pay the transportation cost, renting a room and writing making application letters. He said she had gone to Semarang to find a job.

The head of the sub-directorate I of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police Command` Directorate of Criminal Investigation, Senior Commissioner Helmy Santika said she was found alone at the boarding house in Greenwood, Kalipancur, Manyaran, Semarang.

He said Dea had thought her leaving home would not cause any public concern or police intervention. Her parents reported her missing to the police on October 26.

Earlier, in August this year, a 21-year old Binus University female student in West Jakarta was reported missing after taking a public transport home. Later she was found dead with her body dumped in a ditch in Tangerang, Banten, after being raped, robbed and killed. The perpetrators of the multiple crime have all been arrested.
