Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has named former secretary general of the Foreign Ministry Sudjadnan Parnohadiningrat a suspect in an alleged graft case at the ministry from 2004 to 2005.

KPK spokesman Johan Budi said on Monday the results of investigation into the budget of the Secretariat General of the Foreign Ministry from 2004 to 2005 showed there had been alleged abuse of authority.

The alleged abuse of authority over the implementation of a number of activities at the ministry between 2004 and 2005 had allegedly inflicted a loss of Rp18 billion on the state, he said.

Earlier, Sudjadnan had been declared guilty of being involved in an illegal disbursement of funds for the Indonesian embassy in Singapore in 2004.

He approved the disbursement of budget funds for the renovation of the building and offices at the Indonesian embassy in Singapore before obtaining the green light from the Finance Ministry.

Sudjadna was then sentenced to a year and 18 months in jail. (*)
