Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Some 935 people die in traffic accidents in Jakarta during from January to October 2011, Chief of Jakarta City Metropolitan Police Office Inspector General Untung S Rajab said here on Monday.

"Most of the victims are motorcyclists and the cause of death is mostly human error," Untung said.

Up till now, the Jakarta Metropolitan Police Office has recorded 6,732 accidents in the city that caused the death of 935 people, while 2,241 others injured.

In 2010, the Jakarta Metropolitan Police Office recorded 8,059 accidents with 1,032 fatalities and 3,429 injured. (*)
