Kuala Namu airport scheduled for completion by end of 2012

Medan, North Sumatra (ANTARA News) - The construction of Kualanamu airport in North Sumatra province is expected to be completed at end of 2012, Transportation minister EE Mangindaan has said.

The minister during a transit at Polonia airport here on Wednesday on his way to observe the Kualanamu airport in Deli Serdang district said that the construction of Kualanamu airport has reached 80 percent.

In addition to observe the Kualanamu airport, minister Mangindaan who was accompanied by former minister for the state administrative reform TB Silalahi also visited the Silangit airport in Tapanuli Utara distict, North Sumatra.

Meanwhile, the North Sumatra provincial government previously offered to build a toll road from Kualanamu to Tebing Tinggi to Hungary government.

North Sumatra acting governor Gatot Pujo Nugroho made the offer when Hungarian ambassador to Indonesia Szilvester Bus visited Medan recently. (*)
