Jakarta (ANTARA News) - State-owned oil and gas Pertamina has up to the third quarter of 2011 posted a net profit of Rp19.45 trillion, exceeding its profit target of Rp17.7 trillion, a Pertamina vice president said.

Pertamina Corporate Communication Vice President Mochammad Harun said here on Friday that the achievement of the 2011 profit target which exceeded target was thanks to a number of factors.

He said that there were at least three factors that encouraged the company to exceed its target this year, namely oil and gas production, the currency exchange values and the delta.

Mochammad said that up to the third quarter of 2011 the company had pocketed an income of Rp432.2 trillion.

He said that the income was supported by upstream production which in the last nine years had reached 123.5 million barrels of equal oil, which consisted of 52.4 million barrels of oil, 412 bscf gas, 11.8 million tons of geothermal and 1,553.7 gwh of geothermal-generated electricity.

"This year, the yields of 10 fuel oil production on refinery intake reached 76.6 percent, while the sales of fuel oils which consisted of retail, aviation and industry reached 47.55 million kiloliters," Harun said.

Up to September this year, Pertamina has sold aircraft fuel or aviation turbine (avtur) amounting to 2.7 million kiloliters or 112 percent of the September target in 2011.

Pertamina had also succeeded in exceeding by 15 percent of its lubricating sales target in the retail market in 2011 which was set at 180,000 kiloliters. Up the end of this year, it is expected to reach 200,000 kiloliters.(*)
