Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Minister Djoko Suyanto said here Saturday Nunun Nurbaeti, a suspect in a high-profile bribery case, has been arrested in Bangkok and brought back to Jakarta.

Suyanto said the news was received by the foreign minister from the Indonesian ambassador to Thailand. Nunun was taken from Bangkok to Jakarta by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), according to information from the foreign minister.

Nunun was some time ago declared a suspect in the case of a number of parliamentarians who had accepted bribes in connection with the election of Miranda Gultom as Bank Indonesia (BI or central bank) senior deputy governor in 2004.

The KPK declared her a suspect while she was abroad where she was said to be staying for treatment of an illness. In its efforts to capture Nunun, the KPK through the National Police eventually sought the assistance of interpol.
