Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT) has formed a domestic industries communication forum in an effort to step up its partnership relations with government institutes.

"Through this forum we can sit together to discuss a wide range of problems," BPPT Chairman Marzan Azis Iskandar said at a session of the newly formed forum here on Wednesday.

The forum`s aim was finding meeting points between the agency`s capability and capacity and industries` and users` needs, he said.

"The objective of the forum is to build cooperation through strong partnership with small-, medium and large-scale national industries," he said.

He said cooperation and partnership were an important part of the agency`s programs.

"All the programs we have set have the potential and chance of allowing cooperation and partnership although our industries have different products and capacities as well as different interests," he said.

Asked about the forum themed "partnership to increase productivity and competitiveness of industries", the BPPT chief expressed hope that there would be a kind of cooperation among leaders or representatives of national industries.

He said that the cooperation needed sustainable management, ranging from planning to production process.
