Jakarta (ANTARA News) - A Democrat Party (PD) legislator has suggested that the results of a BPK (State Audit Board) forensic audit on the Bank Century bailout be submitted to the law enforcement agencies.

Ramadhan Pohan, a member of the House`s Team Monitoring the Bank Century Case` Settlement, said here on Friday if indeed indications of irregularities or corruption had been found in the BPK audit, the findings had better be referred to the law enforcement agencies such as the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) and the public prosecutor`s office.

"In short, nothing should be covered up. But if no indications (of corruption) were found in the BPK audit, neither should we fabricate them," he said at a press conference following the submission of the BPK audit results to the House of Representatives (DPR) on Friday.

He said the audit was aimed at finding transactions which were abnormal or made against the law causing losses to Bank Century, the state or the people before or after the bank was taken over by the Deposit Insurance Agency (LPS).

The results of the audit would also show those involved in the transactions. He said BPK was able to finish the audit in 125 days on December 23 or earlier than the agreed deadline of within 150 days and this had to be appreciated, he said.

About some negative responses to the BPK`s audit results, Pohan said that they were examples of efforts to drag the problem into the political realm.

"Some parties have expressed dissatisfaction about the BPK audit results because the findings did not meet their interests," he said.

He said certain quarters wished to involve certain figures into crimes they actually had never committed .

He said the legal process had taken place but so far no proof had been found of those figures` involvement. "The legal process must be respected and the matter should not be politicized," he said.

Ramadhan who is vice chairman of the ruling Democrat Party faction in the House of Representatives said accusations that BPK auditors responsible for the auditing were not competent such as were made by former lawmaker Misbakhun who had been convicted in connection with an illegal deal with Bank Century were groundless.

"The independence and competence of BPK auditors need not be doubted," he said.

Pohan said if indeed indications of corruption were found in the audit they had better be referred to the law enforcement agencies concerned such as KPK and the prosecutor`s office. "But if no indications are found do not make them up ," he said.
