Harimau Sumatera (Panthera Tigris Sumatrae) yang berhasil ditangkap petugas Balai Konservasi Sumber Daya Alam (BKSDA) Bengkulu, di Dusun Rantau Panjang, Desa Talang Sebaris, Kecamatan Air Periukan, Kabupaten Seluma, Rabu (9/3). Harimau yang masuk perangkap pada Selasa (8/3) malam, tersebut berjenis kelamin betina, berat 65 kg, umur sekitar 2 tahun. Populasi harimau Sumatera di Provinsi Bengkulu diperkirakan tinggal 50 ekor, keberadaanya terpencar-pencar dan sebagian besar berada dalam kawasan hutan belukar di sekitar perkebunan masyarakat.
