Algiers (ANTARA News/Xinhua-OANA) - Ten new political parties have been allowed to hold their constituent congress ahead of being recognized, Algeria`s Interior Ministry announced Tuesday.

A statement of the ministry says that "the process of the recognition of applications of the new parties is to be accelerated as soon as the founding members complete them," adding that "the new parties` constituent congress should be in conformity with the new organic law relating to political parties. "

Ten political parties are awaiting recognition from authorities, in order to start their electoral campaign ahead of the upcoming parliament elections scheduled for May.

Previously, Interior Minister Dahou Ould Kablia stated that any political party filing a complete application which is in conformity with the new law on political parties will be recognized "with no problem."
