"Be confident and grateful that as the largest developing country in Southeast Asia, Indonesia is heading toward a better future," the president told the diplomats.
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has asked Indonesia representatives to foreign countries to maintain their self confidence and positive thinking as diplomats from the largest developing country in Southeast Asia.

The president made the request when he received the diplomats at the Foreign Affairs Ministry`s Pancasila Building on Pejambon street in Central Jakarta on Thursday.

"Be confident and grateful that as the largest developing country in Southeast Asia, Indonesia is heading toward a better future," the president told the diplomats.

He noted that the Indonesian diplomats should promote this point of view as representatives from an awakening country in Southeast Asia.

"The mentality of a big country in Southeast Asia and a member of the G20 has a deeper meaning, and that none of us has the mentality of a country that faced a multidimensional crisis some 14 years ago," the president noted.

He added, however, that Indonesia has been able to work itself out of the crisis and, therefore, the diplomats have nothing to feel inferior about.(*)
