Pontianak, West Kalimantan (ANTARA News) - West Kalimantan Province plans to construct one-roof multifunction building in Jakarta, local legislator Syarif Izhar Assyuri said here on Monday.

Syarif said the building would house the province`s representative office, a hotel, and a bank in the national capital.

"The multifunction building is part of West Kalimantan`s image in the state capital city of Jakarta," Syarif said.

He noted that the already existing building on Guntur Street in South Jakarta was no longer representative because it was not located along a strategic road.

"Bank of Kalbar also plans to build its representative office in Jakarta and therefore we want to integrate it with our final target of increasing the regional revenue," said the politician from the National Mandate Party.

He noted that the plan was inspired by North Sulawesi Province which has built a building with similar concept in Jakarta and has already taken the benefit from it.

But Syarif said the source of funds for the construction of the multifunction building and its management remained uncertain.

"We have some options. Perhaps we can sell our assets in Jakarta to construct that building but if the money from the sale is not enough we are not certain where to get the deficiency," he said.
