Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Committee charged with selecting candidates for the Financial Authority Board of Commissioners (DK-OJK) has provided 21 names to President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.

"This afternoon we have provided 21 DK-OJK candidates to the President," the Finance Minister who is also Selection Committee Chairman Agus Martowardojo told the press in Jakarta Wednesday.

But the Finance Minister did not mention the names of the candidates who have passed the selection, because the names would be announced on Thursday (Mar 22) at zero hours.

The Finance Minister said the President will consider the names and elect 14 names who will have to undergo a fit and proper test by the House of Representatives on April 5, 2012.

"The President under the Law will Select on the basis of requirements, criteria, experience and know-how of the candidates in financial sector service ," he said.

Then on May 7, 2012, the 14 candidates will start the process of fit and proper test at the House. On June 5, 2012 the House is expected to have determined seven names of the Board of Commissioners to be handed to the President for his approval.

"Thus on July 16, 2012, nine members of the Board of Commissioners plus a chairman and members will have been elected," he said.

The Finance Minister expressed his appreciation to the candidates for taking part in the four-stage selection from the selection committee, namely administrative, capability, health and competence selections.

The Finance Minister also expressed appreciation to other institutions including Bank Indonesia in testing the member candidates.

The minister also believed that the selection had been carried out transparently, independently and fairly, guaranteeing the elected candidates have the necessary financial capabilities.
