Amman (ANTARA News/Xinhua-OANA) - Jordan on Wednesday rejected as baseless reports that it smuggles Iraqi oil to Israel, the state-run Petra news agency.

Mohammad Mubaidin, general manager of Aqaba Ports, said claims by an Iraqi MP that Jordan smuggles 15,000 barrels of oil a day to Israel are groundless.

"These claims are invalid and there are no oil exports from Aqaba. The Aqaba port only receives oil imports incoming to Jordan, " he said.

He added that there are no smuggling activities through the Aqaba port, "these remarks are completely rejected and unacceptable."
