Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Jero Wacik said state oil company PT Pertamina planned to explore oil in Kazakhstan under an energy cooperation between the two countries.

"Pertamina has even already started in the last couple of months to get good oil exploration wells there," Jero Wacik said after joining a state visit of the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev at the State Palace in Jakarta Friday.

Jero said Kazakhstan is a country with abundant natural oil.He said Kazakhstan is no oil importing country.

The cooperation in natural explorations may be realized next year.

Jero said Indonesia will supply oil palm in return. The two countries agreed to build a palm oil plant in Indonesia.

The energy cooperation is only one of the economic cooperation items between the two countries. The two countries also planned to increase increase trade and investment.

Some of the sectors which will be prioritized included cotton and tire industries, in addition to tourism and defense.

President Nazarbayev is in Indonesia for a state visit on the invitation of President Yudhoyono.

In the state visit, the two state leaders will sign an immigration cooperation agreement, especially on visas for diplomatic and government officials.(*)
