Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Yudhoyono received a delegation from Chinese news agency Xinhua at his office here on Thursday.

The Xinhua delegation included agency president Li Congjun, director general for personnel affairs Yu Shaoliang, director general for foreign affairs Zhou Zhongmin, head of the Asia-Pacific Bureau, Ju Mengjung, and head of Jakarta Bureau Yu Qianliang.

Yudhoyono at the meeting was flanked by Coordinating Minister for Political, Security, and Law Affairs Djoko Suyanto, Information Minister Tifatul Sembiring, Minister/State Secretary Sudi Silalahi, and Cabinet Secretary Dipo Alam.

In his opening speech, President Yudhoyono discussed about potential cooperation between the two countries` media or news agencies.

"This is a part of people-to-people contact. We could discuss any kind of cooperation that could be increased in the future," he said.

Yudhoyono noted that Indonesia and China were two friendly countries and cooperation between the two had been in various sectors.

The increase in cooperation between the two nations would be followed by improvement in the welfare of their peoples. Yudhoyono said he was optimistic that cooperation between the two countries would continue to develop.
