"We have applied the anti-corruption curriculum in the subjects of social sciences and religion."
Manado, North Sulawesi (ANTARA News) - The anti-corruption curriculum has been implemented at all schools in Manado, North Sulawesi, said the local education office spokesman Dante Tombeg here on Thursday.

"We have applied the anti-corruption curriculum in the subjects of civics, social sciences and religion at all schools in Manado," Dante announced.

He expressed hope that early anti-corruption education would benefit the character of students and develop their moral sense to remain honest whenever and wherever they were tempted to commit any kind of dishonesty.

Dante remarked that after studying the anti-corruption curriculum, the students will acquire good and strong understanding of how to shun corrupt practices, which are detrimental to themselves and others.

"Therefore, we will continue to apply character education, integrated with the curriculum, to create this nation`s next generations, who have honesty and integrity," Dante declared.

To help the students practice honesty, Dante said that the education authorities had set up "honesty canteens" at various schools across the country.

Meanwhile, the Democrat Party`s Regional Legislative Assembly member, Jeane Rumimpunu, observed that the implementation of an anti-corruption curriculum was the most appropriate measure to form good characters in students.

"It is a way of helping the students become people with honesty and integrity, because the man of integrity walks securely while he who takes the crooked path will be found out," Rumimpunu added.
