"The helicopters will be used for evacuation."
Bogor, West Java (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) has made 15 ambulances and four helicopters ready to evacuate the victims of the missing Russian Sukhoi Superjet 100 that the rescuers spotted on Thursday.

"We have prepared 15 ambulances and four helicopters for the evacuation," PMI humanitarian operation spokesman Abidin said here on Thursday, after a search helicopter spotted the wreckage of the ill-fated plane on the edge of a cliff at 5,500 feet.

While on a demonstration flight, the Russian Sukhoi Superjet 100 with 50 people on board went missing near Mount Salak in Bogor, West Java, on Wednesday (May 9).

Abidin said 80 PMI volunteers were mobilised to take part in the rescue operation at the Gunung Bunder area in Bogor.

"The helicopters will be used for evacuation," Abidin explained, adding that the Indonesian Red Cross had also prepared 100 bags for the dead bodies.

He noted that the evacuation would be monitored closely by PMI chairman Jusuf Kalla, the former Indonesian vice president.
