President Yudhoyono attends Timor Leste Independence Day celebration

Dili (ANTARA News) - Visiting Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and First Lady Ani Yudhoyono attended the 10th celebration of Timor Leste`s Independence Day here on Sunday.

The Sunday event was led by Timor Leste`s newly elected president Taur Matan Ruak.

President Yudhoyono arrived in Dili on Saturday (May 19) and conducted bilateral meeting with former president of Timor Leste Jose Ramos Horta.

After the meeting, both leaders witnessed the signing of several Memorandum of Understandings (MoU) which marked the cooperation between Indonesia and Timor Leste in various sectors.

President Yudhoyono during his Saturday stay in Dili also conducted meeting with Timor Leste`s Prime Minister Xanana Gusmao and attended the inauguration of the country`s newly elected president Taur Matan Ruak.
