Bogor, W Java (ANTARA) News - The National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) chief, Vice Marshal Daryatmo, said the radius for searching the flight data recorder (FDR) of the crashed Sukhoi Superjet 100 was broadened up to one kilometer from the previous search site.

"We broaden the radius of the search up to one more kilometer from the previous one. We hope the weather would be good so that the flight data recorder could be found," Daryatmo said when he inspected the evacuation command post in Cijeruk, here on Sunday.

He said that the FDR was not yet discovered so that now the joint Indonesian-Russian SAR team was still searching for the flight item until a specified time.

When asked on the dateline for the Russian team to join the Indonesian SAR team, Daryatmo said the Indonesian team would coordinate with the Russian team.

In the meantime, the Russian team had begun to leave the Cijeruk Command Post in the 12nd day.

A total of 22 members of the Russian team were sent back to Halim Perdanakusuma airport while a number of team members still stayed in command post, including those who still stayed on the Mt Salak peak.

Daryatmo said the withdrawal of the Russian team was not done by the Indonesian team but the Russian authorities. This was to reduce the Russian team`s personnel like the Basarnas which had also withdrawn some of its personnel from the evacuation task site.

Operations for the evacuation of the victims of Sukhoi Superjet 100 which crashed on Mount Salak, Bogor, West Java, on Wednesday last week (May 9, 2012) was officially terminated on Friday.

But a 16-memer Indonesian-Russian team is still continuing its efforts to search for the ill-fated plane`s flight data recorder which was part of the black box which was needed to analyze the cause of the crash.

The plane`s cockpit voice recorder (CVR) has been found, however.(*)
