"The event hopefully can help promote tourism in Central Java."
Magelang (ANTARA News) - Tourism and Creative Economic Minister Marie Elka Pangestu said the Borobudur International Hash (InterHash) 2012 was expected to promote Central Java as a tourist destination.

"The event hopefully can help promote tourism in Central Java in particular and Indonesia in general. We are highlighting several tourist attractions such as the Prambanan and Borobudur temples and surrounding areas, in addition to Bali," the minister said here on Friday.

Minister Pangestu was in Magelang to inspect the VVIP route of the Borobudur InterHash in Tuksongo village, Borobudur sub-district, Magelang district.

The Borobudur InterHash is being held during May 24-27, 2012. About 7,000 people, including 4,600 foreigners from 50 countries, will take part in the event.

The InterHash event has been themed around fitness, fun and friendship. The participants have to run, so they have to be fit. There will be fun and friendship in the air because people and Hash clubs from all over the world are getting together.

During the event, the participants can enjoy the scenery of Borobodur and the surrounding rural environment.
