Jambi (ANTARA News) - Former economic minister Professor (Emeritus) Dorodjatun Kuntjoro Jakti believes that Jambi province has the potential to become the educational hub of Indonesia.
While concurring with Dorodjatun, Jambi Governor Hasan Basri also noted that the province`s strategic geographical location is ripe for establishing Jambi as an educational center.
Meanwhile, Jambi University (Unija) Rector Aulia Tasman also shared Dorodjatun`s enthusiasm and said that the idea gains momentum with an influx of international sea traffic.
"To make our dream of making Jambi an education center come true, Unija is currently building a new campus at Tanjungjabung Timur (Tanjabtim) district," Aulia said.
He added that although the construction of the new campus was still underway, more than 500 youngsters from neighboring provinces have already enrolled as students.
