"But I don`t know whether or not they have notified investigators that they would not come. I will check the matter again," KPK spokesman Johan Budi said.
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Coordinating Minister for People`s Welfare Agung Laksono failed to show up at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Tuesday to testify to a bribery case surrounding a National Sports Week (PON) project in Riau province.

By 04.00 p.m. on Tuesday neither Agung Laksono nor Secretary General of the House of Representatives (DPR) Nining Indrasari showed up at the KPK building, KPK spokesman Johan Budi said.

"But I don`t know whether or not they have notified investigators that they would not come. I will check the matter again," he said.

KPK served summons on Agung Laksono and Nining Indrasari on June 29, he said.

"If a witness does not show up there will normally be a repeat summons. But I don`t know when KPK will serve the repeat summons on them," he said.

KPK had named six people as suspects in the alleged bribery case. They are former chief of the Riau Provincial Youth and Sport Office Lukman Abbas, chief of the sport facilities and infrastructures section at the Riau provincial youth and sport office, Eka Dharma Putra, and Rahmat Syahputra of the state-owned construction firm PT Pembangunan Perumahan (PP), which has the responsibility to carry out the project.

The three other suspects are members of the Riau Provincial Legislative Assembly (DPRD). They are Muhammad Duni of the Nation`s Awakening Party (PKB), Muhammad Faisal Aswan of the Golkar Party and Taufan Andoso Yakin of the National Mandate Party (PAN). (*)
