Bakauheni (ANTARA News) - Inland Waterway Transportation Service PT ASDP has mobilized 78 volunteers to help regulate passenger traffic at Bakauheni ferry port in South Lampung district.

PT ASDP Indonesia Operation Manager Heru Purwanto stated here on Wednesday that the volunteers were recruited from a youth organization based near the port.

The volunteers, mostly female teenagers, were mobilized to serve Lebaran holiday travellers - on their way back from their home towns - at ticket counters and electronic ticket gateways.

Heru said the volunteers were tasked with directing the pedestrians to ticket counters and opening the electronic ticket gates for them as well.

"The volunteers are divided into two groups that will work in two different shifts during the day to assist the ferry passengers," he added.
