Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian special police anti-terror unit Densus 88 has discovered bombs and explosives during raids in several places, and arrested 11 suspects.

"Explosives have been found in the form of bombs or materials ready for use," the spokesman of the National Police Headquarters, Inspector General Suhardi Alius, said here on Saturday.

He added that police had raided four locations in Madiun, East Java, Solo in Central Java, Bogor in West Java and Palmerah, as well as Kebong Kacang in Jakarta.

He said in the first two locations police discovered bombs or raw materials and manuals for making bombs.

In other locations police have also discovered raw materials for making bombs, as well as ammunition and detonators.

Suhardi said 11 terror suspects have been arrested and identified as members of a new cell led by Hasmi.

"Hasmi is the short form of Harakat Sunni for Indonesia Community," he said.

The new group has set four targets to attack, including the US Consulate General in Surabaya, East Java, the US Embassy in Jakarta, Plaza 89 which is close to the Australian Embassy, the office of mining company Freeport in South Jakarta, and a Mobile Brigade police headquarters in Central Java.

Suhardi called on the public to cooperate with the police, as they work to overcome terrorist threats.
