"We have no information about the cabinet reshuffle yet."
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono will soon replace Andi Mallarangeng with a new Sports and Youth Affairs Minister, according to presidential spokesperson Julian Aldrin Pasha.

"In the near future, President Yudhoyono will appoint a new minister," he told the press at the State Palace here on Wednesday.

Julian noted that several names had been recommended to fill the position and many people even volunteered to take up the responsibility.

"There is nothing wrong in volunteering for the post. It means there is a will to contribute to the state," he explained.

Julian stated that he was not aware of any developments with regard to a cabinet reshuffle following the appointment of a new minister.

"We have no information about the cabinet reshuffle yet," he said.

Andi stepped down as Sports and Youth Affairs Minister on December 7 last year, after the Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) named him as a suspect in the Hambalang corruption case.

Currently, Coordinating Minister for People's Welfare Agung Laksono is serving as the interim Sports and Youth Affairs Minister.
