Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said it will look into allegation that deputy Speaker of House of Representatives Priyo Budi Santoso was involved in a corruption case in the Religious Affairs Ministry.

The name of Priyo is mentioned by a witness as one receiving fee for "work" in the procurement of computer laboratory and Koran for the ministry in the academic year of 2011-2012, KPK spokesman Johan Budi said.

"If there is truth in the allegation, KPK would make further investigations," Johan said here on Tuesday confirming charges by prosecutor in the trial of the case with suspect a member of the House Commission III Zulkarnaen Djabar and his son Dendy Prasetia .

Fee for the procurement of Koran was Rp22 billion and it was distributed including 6.5 percent for Zulkarnaen,3.5 percent for Priyo Budi Santoso and 4 percent for Dendy, prosecutor Dzakiyul Fikri said.

The fee for the procurement of the computer laboratory was Rp31.2 billion of which Zulkarnaen had share of 6 percent , Priyo Budi Santoso 1 percent and Dendy 2.25 percent.

Altogether Priyo had a share of Rp1.08 billion. Priyo and Zulkarnaen are lawmakers from the Golkar faction.

Johan said KPK could validate the charge against Priyo through information from Priyo himself or other witnesses.

He said he did not rule out Priyo being summoned to testify in the court if requested , but it would depend on the judge. (*)
