Some facilities and infrastructure for the games are still under construction.
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesian Youth and Sports Minister Roy Suryo has announced the postponement of the implementation of the 3rd Islamic Solidarity Games (ISG) from June to October 2013.

The ISG 2013 was initially to be held in Pekanbaru, Riau Province, on June 6-17, 2013, but due to some problems, the Games will be organized in October 2013, the minister said here on Monday.

The minister said he made the decision after receiving reports from the Indonesian Olympic Committee (KOI), Riau Governor Rusli Zainal, and the ministry`s technical team.

The reports basically suggested that the ISG 2013 implementation should be delayed due to several technical problems. Some facilities and infrastructure for the games are still under construction.

The international sports event is expected to be attended by 57 Islamic countries.
