Nusa Dua, Bali (ANTARA News) - Indonesian Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa and his Argentinian counterpart Hector Marcos Timerman have agreed to enhance connectivity between the two countries, a move that will pave the way for close bilateral cooperation.

The two ministers held talks on the sidelines of the 6th Ministerial Meeting of the Forum for East Asia and Latin America Cooperation (FEALAC) member states here on Thursday.

This is Timerman`s third visit to Indonesia in the past couple of years, suggesting how close it is the cooperation between the two nations.

Marty underscored the need for Argentina to ease the procedure of issuing visas to Indonesian citizens particularly businessmen wishing to visit the Latin American country and to strive for the implementation of air transport agreement between the two nations in support of the connectivity.

At the meeting, the two ministers discussed a follow up to Argentinian President Cristina de Kirchner`s visit to Indonesia in January 2013. They also discussed the possibility of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono paying a reciprocal visit to Argentina.

Marty praised the Argentinian foreign minister for his support to the 6th FEALAC ministerial meeting to strengthen cooperation between East Asian nations and Latin American countries.

FEALAC member states which make up 33.43 percent of the world`s gross domestic product (GDP) have a total trade of US$13.14 trillion, accounting for 29.82 percent of the global trade. About 24 percent of the world`s foreign direct investment (FDI) is also among FEALAC members.

FEALAC was established in 1999 as an informal forum to link Asian and Latin American countries. (*)
