Solo, C Java (ANTARA News) - Indonesia`s women`s double players, Beatrice Gumulya/Jessy Rompies, won the International Tennis Tournament "So Good Womens Circuit Series I 2013 in Manahan Solo, on Saturday.

The Indonesian women`s double team became the champion after beating Indonesia/China`s mixed women`s double Aldila Sutjiadi/Ai Wen Zhu 6-2, 6-4 in the final.

The women`s double winner will receive prize money worth US$980 and the runner-up will receive US$340.

In the first set, Gumulya/Rompies started to lead 2-0 and kept their advantage and secured the first set with a 6-2 score.

Gumulya/Rompies put up the pressure on their opponents with their net game which was hard for the Sutjiadi/Zhu to hit back.

In the second set Sutjiadi/Zhu tried to fight back and led a 2-1 score, but Gumulya/Rompies were able to catch up and turned the score into 4-2.

But the game was not yet the end for Sutjiadi/Zhu, they kept hitting hard to the corner areas which caused Gumulya/Rompies to lose their pace for a while. They even made the score to rise to 4-4.

However, experience remains a decisive factor that would etermine the winner of the game. This brought experienced women`s double team Gumulya/Rompies as the champion after they closed the second set with a 6-4 victory.

The runner-up, Sutjiadi, admitted her opponents were experienced and talented players.

"Gumulya/Zhu are still on top of us. So, the only possible strategy for is to play with nothing to lose in mind," she said.

While her partner, Zhu, believed the double already played their best, but their opponents were better. That was for the second time they became a double team, since they became the finalist players of China Open 2011.

Meanwhile, Rompies believed the key factor that made them champion was playing with patience.

"We was nervous in the first set, but eventually we enjoyed our game," she said.

Gumulya admited that was not the first time that she and Rompies won a tournament as a double. They won as a double event back at a time when their were in the junior class.

"We won a tournament in Solo in 2009 as a double," she added.
