The money was not corrupted, but the BLSM cut actually occurred relating to the matter of debts."
Garut, West Java (ANTARA News) - Coordinating Minister for People`s Welfare Agung Laksono has asked poor people to report whoever corrupts the Temporary Direct Assistance to Community (BLSM) to authorities.

"If the BLSM is corrupted, it should be reported to authorities as it is a manipulation," Agung said in his visit during the fasting month of Ramadan here on Saturday.

According to Agung, he received a report about the BLSM corrupting cases in villages of several regions.

After checking the alleged BLSM corrupting cases, however, some of the BLSM was actually cut and redistributed to the other poor people who do not receive the BLSM or relating to existing debts (of the BLSM receiver), he said.

"The money was not corrupted, but the BLSM cut actually occurred relating to the matter of debts," the minister said.

In addition, Agung said, the village administration will verify the poor people who do not receive the BLSM, the financial aid (instead BLSM) for them will be covered by the regional administration in accordance with their respective budget.

The central government provided the BLSM assistance amounting to Rp9.3 trillion for 15.5 target families for a period of four to five months starting June 2013. Each family gets Rp150,000 monthly.

The government has also set aside Rp360 billion for operational cost to monitor and supervise the implementation of the BLSM assistance.

The government distributed the BLSM to poor people as the compensation policy following the prices increase of subsidized premium gasoline from Rp4,500 per liter to Rp6,500 per liter and diesel oil from Rp4,500 per liter to Rp5,500 per liter. ***4***
