Therefore, the budget has increased."
Bandung, West Java (ANTARA News) - The budget for the 19th National Games to be held in West Java Province in 2016 has been estimated at approximately Rp1 trillion or more.

"While discussing the 19th National Games, which are scheduled to take place here in West Java, we realized that the budget required would be big and possibly reach Rp1 trillion," the West Java Development Planning Board Head Deny Juanda Puradimaja said here on Monday.

He revealed that the proposed budget for the 19th National Games at present was Rp800 billion.

Puradimaja stated that a joint team of West Java Provincial Administration and the Indonesian Sports Council officials would soon hold a meeting with Youth and Sports Minister Roy Suryo soon.

He also pointed out that West Java would need at least 43 sport venues for the 19th National Games to be held smoothly.

"The latest budget figure does not just include construction costs for new venues; it also includes expenses from renovation projects and rentals. Therefore, the budget has increased," Puradimaja explained.

The West Java Provincial Administration has pledged to prevent corruption from taking place during the organization of the 19th National Games.

"Unless we are very careful, many problems can occur ahead of the National Games. Therefore, we have already planned to form a special task force, consisting of provincial and central government officials, to prevent such problems from happening," Puradimaja said.
