"Dul was named suspect and charged with article 310, paragraph 3 of Law No. 22/2009 on Traffic," head of public relations division of Jakarta metropolitan police, Senior Commissioner Rikwanto said.
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Jakarta police has named Abdul Qodir Jaelani alias Dul,13, youngest son of musician Ahmad Dhani, whose car struck the other two cars that left six persons died and nine injured in Jagorawi toll road.

"Dul was named suspect and charged with article 310, paragraph 3 of Law No. 22/2009 on Traffic," head of public relations division of Jakarta metropolitan police, Senior Commissioner Rikwanto said here on Monday.

Dul was allegedly careless when driving a car that caused cars collision, fatalities and serious injuries, Rikwanto said.

Although Dul has been named a suspect, but police applied article 13 of Law No. 23/2002 on Child Protection by involving the Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI), the police spokesman said.

According to Rikwanto, the KPAI personnel will accompany Dul during an investigation process because Dul is still underage.

In addition, application of the penalty against Dul, will be charged half of threat on adults or three years in prison.

Rikwanto said further that police will summon Dul`s parents

(Ahmad Dhani and Maia Estianty) with regard to an allegation whether or not the parents allowed Dul to drive the ill-fated car.

To date, police investigators haven`t yet questioned Dul because the Junior High School (SMP) student was still undergoing intensive

treatment in Pondok Indah hospital, South Jakarta.

According to the police spokesman, the early Sunday accident occurred at 1.45 a.m. Western Indonesian Standard time or WIB.

The fatalities were identified as Agus Kumara, Agus Wahyudi, Rikiaditia Santoso, Agus Surahman, Qomar and Nurmansyah.

Meanwhile, the other nine who suffered injuries are Wahyudi, Nugro, Abdul Qodir, Jauheri, Boby, Pardomuan, Pujo Widodo, Ahmad and Noval Samodra.

Rikwanto said here on Sunday that the accident involved "Lancer, Granmax" cars and "Avanza" minibus.

The accident happened when a Lancer that ran in a high speed struck the fence separator of the road, turning on the opposite lane and also hit the GranMax car and Avanza minibus, he said.

Head of Bogor accident insurance company (Jasa Rahardja), Ichwan said that the hospitalized victims will receive Rp10 million at maximum each, while the deceased will get Rp25 million respectively.(*)
