Denpasar, Bali (ANTARA News) - Indonesian Military Forces (TNI) have started sterilizing the Nusa Dua area in the Bali province as the starting date for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit --being held from October 3 to 9-- draws near, Col. Wing Handoko, a spokesman for Bali`s military base said on Monday.

"Delegates are expected to arrive, starting October 1. The military and police personnel will join forces to secure the APEC meeting, especially in the Nusa Dua area," Handoko stated.

He further explained that security personnel will tighten the flow of people entering or exiting the Nusa Dua area. Apart from that, only registered vehicles using a special sticker will be allowed to enter the APEC meeting venue.

About 11,000 personnel from Indonesian Military Forces (TNI) and the National Police have been deployed to secure the APEC meeting in the Bali province.
