Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will question Banten Governor Ratu Atut Chosiyah on Friday regarding an alleged bribery case related to the Lebak district head`s disputed election.

"We have served a summons on Ratu Atut to testify on Friday about the alleged involvement of STA in the case," KPK spokesman Jahan Budi said at the KPK building here on Wednesday.

Atut is a key witness in the alleged bribery case.

STA is a lawyer who has been named as a suspect in the case. She is believed to have acted as a broker for suspended constitutional court chairman AM, who is suspected of accepting a bribe, and TCW, who is suspected of bribing AM.

TCW, the husband of South Tangerang Mayor Airin Rachmi Diany, is Atut`s younger brother.

During their recent search of the house of STA`s parents in Tebet, South Jakarta, KPK investigators found banknotes worth Rp1 billion believed to have been handed over to AM.

Atut has been banned from traveling abroad due to her impending questioning by the anti-graft body. As a result, she dropped a plan to perform the hajj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia this year.(*)
