Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Police are investigating suspected terrorist cells in which three terror suspects were members, after they were arrested in Bone District, South Sulawesi, on Thursday, National Police Headquarters spokesman Sr Comr agus Rianto said.

"We are still investigating their networks. Until now, we have no information on whether they have links with terrorist suspect Santoso," Agus said here on Friday.

He added that police are still examining the case of the three suspects, who were arrested by the Densus 88 ant-terror detachment and identified as S alias PG, E alias J alias U and AI.

The trio is suspected of involvement in the recent shooting death of a Police Mobile Brigade member in Ambon, Maluku. They were arrested in Alingge village in the sub-district of Ulaweng, Bone, on Thursday at about 2:40 p.m.

Officials believe these suspects were also involved in the bomb attack on South Sulawesi governor Syahrul Yasin Limpo some time ago, using bombs they had built.

Agus confirmed the police would continue their investigation to track down and arrest other suspects who remain at large.

From those arrested, police confiscated two revolvers and a Sig Sauer gun containing 38 caliber bullets, as well as a car.

The Densus 88 squad had been monitoring the suspects` activities since Wednesday, as they moved from one village to another.

At around 8 a.m. on Thursday, the suspects left the house of the Pak Guru (teacher) in the village of Cebba, Amali, and made their way to a forest, emerging only at around 1:30 p.m., before traveling by car to the house of the Pak Guru in Alingge.

The Densus 88 squad apprehended the men as they were en route, resulting in gunfire that claimed the life of S alias PG, said officials.(*)
