Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Yudhoyono and First Lady Ani Yudhoyono shopped at Muara Kuin floating market in Barito River, Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan, on Thursday.

Yudhoyono and his entourage were on board a yacht during a tour of the floating market, where vendors sell vegetables, fruits, fish, and local dishes, among other things.

Members of the entourage included Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Hatta Rajasa, Minister/State Secretary Sudi Silalahi, and South Kalimantan Governor Rudy Ariffin.

Yudhoyono and his wife bought vegetables and fruits, as well as traditional plaited hats that they later wore.

The President began the tour at six in the morning and stayed for about 50 minutes.

Floating markets have been a tourist attraction in Banjarmasin, which has many wide rivers, where farmers and traders bring their goods to trade on boats. Banjarmasin is known as a "city of one thousand rivers".
