Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Center of Statistics Agency has reported that Indonesias economic growth in Q3 of 2013 reached 5.62 percent year-on-year, lower than last years growth rate of 5.81 percent.

The head of the Center of Statistics Agency, Suryamin, said at a press conference here on Wednesday that the Indonesian Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in Q3 2013 had grown 5.83 percent, cumulatively, compared with the same period in 2012.

"The highest growth is in logistics and communication, with growth of 10.46 percent, followed by real estate and company services at 8.09 percent and construction at 6.24 percent," he stated.

The highest growth last year was in agriculture, farming, forestry, and fisheries with 6.16 percent, followed by construction at 3.35 percent and communication at 3.28 percent.

The processing industry was the highest contributor to growth in the third quarter, with 1.25 percent, followed by the hotel and restaurant sectors, with 1.07 percent; logistics and communication, with 1.05 percent; and finance, real estate, and company services, with 0.77 percent.

Other sectors such as services, 0.52 percent; agriculture, farming, forestry, fisheries, and construction, each 0.41 percent; mining, 0.11 percent; and electricity, gas, and clean water, each 0.03 percent also contributed to the 5.62 percent growth.

On expenditures to the GDP, government consumption contributed 8.83 percent; domestic consumption, 5.48 percent; investment, 4.51 percent; exports, 5.26 percent; and imports, 3.8 percent.

"This data indicates there is an acceleration in realization of the governments budget, particularly in the non-operational and services sectors. Besides this, expenditure on social subsidies also increased compared with the previous quarter in 2013," remarked Suryamin.

Meanwhile, the GDP expenditure as of Q3 2013 was 5.83 percent, with dominant contributions from domestic consumption, 5.29 percent; investment, 4.81 percent; government consumption, 4.05 percent; exports, 4.56 percent; and imports, 1.38 percent.

Overall, the Indonesian economy in the third quarter of 2013 was still dominated by Java, contributing 58.2 percent to the GDP, followed by Sumatera, 23.75 percent; Kalimantan, 8.45 percent; Sulawesi, 4.87 percent; and Maluku-Papua, 2.19 percent.
