During the phone conversation with Thai Prime Minister Ying Luck, President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono stated that Indonesia supported the democratic political settlement of the crisis in Thailand.
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesia hopes that the political crisis in Thailand can be resolved through democratic means, based on its law and constitution.

During the phone conversation, on Tuesday evening, with Thai Prime Minister Ying Luck, President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono stated that Indonesia supported the democratic political settlement of the crisis in Thailand.

"President Yudhoyono has received a phone call from the Thai prime minister. During the telephonic conversation, Prime Minister Ying Luck appreciated Yudhoyonos support to the developments in Thailand, particularly the initiative taken during the recent ASEAN-Japan Summit, which led to the release of a joint statement by the ASEAN heads of state," Presidential Special Staff for International Relations Teuku Faizasyah said here on Tuesday evening.

Faizasyah noted that during the summit meeting held last weekend in Tokyo, President Yudhoyono encouraged ASEAN countries to issue a joint statement on the developments in Thailand.
