Tasikmalaya, W Java (ANTARA News) - Police arrested 13 people on charges of conducting a raid on a number of hotels in West Javas Tasikmalaya city on Saturday night.

"Right now we are still detaining them for questioning," spokesman of the Tasikmalaya city police Comr. Indra Budi said here on Sunday.

The 13 people who are members of a mass organization would be questioned for allegedly violating peace and order, he said.

According to the rules, nobody had the right to conduct a raid on hotel or amusement center, he said.

"They are being detained for allegedly causing public unrest. There is no legal basis allowing them to conduct a raid. They have no authority to do so," he said.

He said chief of the Tasikmalaya city police Adj. Snr. Comr. Noffan Widyayoko had earlier warned the members of the mass organization against conducting a raid on hotels. But they insisted on getting around the city to raid a number of hotels and amusement centers.

"They promised to return home. But they still got around the city until we arrested them, along with their 10 motorcycles," Indra said.
