"As one of the founders, I feel that the party has been ruined because of all the robbers," Marzuki Alie said.
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - A ruling Democrat Party figure stated here on Friday that the party had broken into pieces because of robbers.

"As one of the founders, I feel that the party has been ruined because of all the robbers," Marzuki Alie noted, clearly referring to party officials involved in corruption cases.

The house speaker pointed out that he hoped cadres involved in corruption cases will not be associated with the party.

He pointed out that the case that has implicated former party general chairman Anas Urbaningrum concerns him alone, and not the party. Anas must therefore not be associated with the party.

"Anass affairs are not Marzuki Alies affairs and so it must not be addressed as such. It is a judicial matter and has nothing to do with me," he reiterated upon Anass case.

Anas had been named suspect by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in the corruption case concerning the Hambalang sports complex project in Bogor, West Java. (*)
