Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The ruling Democratic Party is ready to face Joko Widodo as a candidate for this years presidential election, the partys spokesperson, Andi Nurpati, said.

"We have prepared a strategy. Whoever the candidates are, we have the strategy," Andi Nurpati said here on Friday.

Andi said that the Democratic Party has studied all possible presidential candidates of other political parties for the presidential election 2014.

According to her, all names were still on discourse until the legislative elections have the results.

"We have many people participating in our presidential candidate convention. They are ready to face Joko Widodo, Prabowo Subianto or Aburizal Bakrie," she said.

Concerning Joko Widodo, also popularly known as Jokowi, she said that the politician of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) has not shown any achievement so far as the Jakarta Governor.

Previously, Jokowi declared his readiness to be a presidential candidate of the PDIP for the upcoming presidential election scheduled for July 9, 2014.

"I have received a mandate from PDIP Chairwoman Megawati Soekarnoputri to be a presidential candidate," he said at Marunda, North Jakarta, Friday.
