Pekanbaru, Riau (ANTARA News) - The Riau provincial police have named 100 people as suspects in alleged forest and plantation fire cases in the provinces several districts and cities.

"The number increases from 90 suspects previously," Riau Police Chief Brigadier General Condro Kirono informed ANTARA here on Thursday.

The 100 suspects were named in 58 cases reported to the police.

In Bengkalis district, Riau province, the local police named 25 suspects in eight cases and in Rokan Hilir district 20 suspects in seven cases.

Over the past two months, the local police of Dumai city has handled eight cases and named 15 suspects while in Siak district there have been 11 suspects in seven cases.

The Pelalawan police have named seven suspects in six cases, and Indragiri Hilir five suspects in five cases, Meranti four suspects in four cases, Indragiri Hulu three suspects, while Kampar and Pekanbaru city each with two suspects.

The Riau polices criminal investigation directorates are currently dealing with five cases with name suspects.

The law enforcement task force is currently hunting five suspects consisting of village officials and companies employees, who are now still at large.(*)
