We want to have a transparent recapitulation."
Surabaya, East Java (ANTARA News) - Board of Directors of the Surabaya Branch of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (DPC PDI-P) asks for vote recount for Legislative General Election due to fraud suspicion.

"As C1 form recapitulation result, we found out that there are four or five seats are lost," announced Chairman of PDIP Office in Surabaya, Wisnu Sakti Buana here on Thursday.

According to Wisnu, since it has entered the recapitulation at General Elections Commission (KPU) of East Java, the calculation has to be done there.

"Because this is peoples voice and it becomes an aspiration. We want to have a transparent recapitulation," explained the politician who is also the deputy mayor of Surabaya.

PDIP Branch Surabaya even threatened to sue the Elections Monitoring Agency (Bawaslu) of East Java and the Constitutional Court (MK) if the commission did not respond to their protests and demands.

Wisnu also invited other parties to do the recounting, so that there is no fraudulence. He explained that he felt the presence of fraud in some villages.

"Our party does not understand how the votes could increase that much. We want fair elections," he asserted.

Meanwhile, Surabaya KPU Commissioner Edward Dewaruci denied the existence of the data manipulation during the election.

He also confirmed that there are no addition or reduction in votes for any particular political parties.

"No vote has been lost or gained, especially for the PDIP," he confirmed.

Edward explained that the agency cannot do a recount unless there is an order from the Constitutional Court.
