Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Jakarta composite index (JCI) slipped 1.39 points on Friday to close at 4,838.76 points on profit taking.

The index of the Indonesian Stock Exchange (BEI)closed 0.03 percent lower with index of 45 most stocks up 0.10 percent to 815.79 points.

"Ahead of holidays, market players tended to be oriented to short term action of share sales. However, the condition is still stable," analyst of Asjaya Indosurya Securities William Surya wijaya said.

In addition foreign funds are still flowing in to the domestic market, William said .

Trade at the BEI was recorded with 195,996 transactions and 3.67 bill;ion shares worth Rp4.86 trillion changing hands.

Gainers were outnumbered by decliners by 124 to 183 ith 96 shares remaining flat .

Regional markets such as Hang Seng recorded an increase of 0.57 percent in index to 22,260.67 points with index of Nikkei down 0.19 percent to 14,457.51 points and that of Straits Times down 0.37 percent to 3,252.55 points.(*)
