"In the process of making improvements and prevention systems, the KPK had prevented potential losses amounting to Rp214,036 trillion until 2013," KPKs chief Abraham Samad said here on Tuesday.
Total saving of potential losses of the country consisting of assets or wealth was Rp212,843 trillion and the state financial losses were Rp1,193 trillion.
He said the money that was saved was from handling the criminal acts of corruption (TPK), money substitutes, money seized, confiscated money, the auction sale results and cost matters.
According to him, the cause of corruption is systemic.
"It had penetrated to all levels in various sectors of the national, local and state institutions in the executive, legislative, and judicial branches. It is because of a lack of integrity or morality due to corrupt, consumptive and hedonistic people," he added.(*)
