Jambi (ANTARA News) - Jambi Regional Police investigators have questioned 95 witnesses over an alleged credit scheme (KUR)s corruption at Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) worth billions of rupiah.

Jambi Regional Police Spokesman Adj Sr Comr. Almansyah said here on Monday that corruption investigators of the Corruption Criminal Investigation Department had questioned 95 witnesses.

He said that police would question some 193 witnesses regarding the alleged corruption linked to the BRIs KUR credit.

The witnesses questioned are BRIs customers who are on the list of KUR recipients and are believed to be fictitious recipients.

Among witnesses questioned included expert witnesses.

"We are convinced that the examinations of the witnesses will be completed within several months," Almansyah said.

Police investigators suspected that the alleged corruption was committed by individual BRI employees. Data on the recipients of the KURs credits was believed to be fictitious.

The disbursement of the funds worth billions of rupiahs has been done over the past several years.
